If one or more alternate products have been set for a product, Vision displays the alternate icon ( ) on the Current Order <F4> screen and on the Part <F5> screen . This is true for these screens whether under the Customer Service tab or the Retail/POS tab. If both alternate and companion products are set, Vision displays the alternate/companion icon ().
The Vision graphical interface makes it easy to add an alternate product to an order with just a few clicks of the mouse.
These instructions assume that parts ACD10014 and ACD10013 are alternates for each other. However, these part numbers are for demonstration purposes only. Activant Solutions Inc. makes no claim or warrant that these part numbers are viable alternatives for any application whatsoever.
These steps assume that you started an order and that you know the part number your customer needs, so you entered it directly into the Part Number field on the Current Order screen.

The system changes focus to the Part <F5 > screen and automatically displays the Alternates tab in the product details as shown at right. Because the alternate has an available quantity, we'll use that part for the order.
