Add or remove a list price calculation for a pricing rule

Each pricing rule in your pricing model must be associated with a price level calculation. The Pricing Model screen of the Pricing tab is where you set up and maintain pricing models. You can also access the pricing level calculation information from this screen.

Note: To access the Pricing Model screen, you must have the proper security privileges. The Pricing Maintenance job function needs to be assigned to one of your roles. Roles are assigned to users in the User Maintenance on the Security Maintenance screen of the Vision Configuration tab. For more information, refer to About roles and job functions.

To add or remove a list price calculation for a pricing rule

  1. On the Pricing Model screen of the Pricing tab, select the pricing model on which you would like to work. (For instructions on how to do this, refer to Modify a pricing model.)

Note: Before you can set up calculation data for a pricing rule, options must be selected for each of the rule's four pricing factors (manufacturer, pricing class, product type, and ABC code) in the Pricing Rules area.

  1. Right-click the gray box in the far left column of the rule whose price level calculations you would like to set up or modify, and then select Change Calculation Data on the shortcut menu. The Price Level Calculation dialog box appears, enabling you to set up and maintain the pricing calculations.

  2. In the New Effective Date field, type the date that the price levels should be calculated or recalculated (or click the arrows to select the date from the calendar).

  3. The List Price Calculation area shows the calculation, if already set up, for the price level. To add or change the calculation for the list price:

  1. In the Based on Price Level drop-down list, select the appropriate price level from the drop-down list if you would like the system to calculate the list price based on a price level price. If you would like the system to calculate the list price based on the purchase order cost, select <Replacement Cost> from the drop-down list.

  2. In the Discount Type drop-down list, select the discount type for the list price calculation. Valid options are:

  1. In the % field, type the discount percentage that should be used in combination with the selected Discount Type option to calculate the list price.

  1. Click the Accept button to save your changes. The Price Level Calculation dialog box closes.

  2. Click the Accept button to save your pricing model changes.

During the End-of-Day process running on the date selected in the New Effective Date field, the system checks for changes made to the pricing models and updates price level prices, list prices, replacement costs, and core cost/price as needed for every affected product.
