When you designate the order type as Quote on the Current Order screen on the Customer Service tab, Vision automatically creates a new follow-up activity for this order and adds it to your queue on the Home Page screen of the Home Page tab to remind you that the quote is open. After the customer has approved the quote, you must change it to a standard order, make any other necessary changes, and accept it. Once you have accepted the order, the follow-up activity is removed from your queue on the Home Page screen.
Inventory is not committed for quotes. Once a quote is changed to a standard order, the system commits the inventory for that order. At the same time, the system also creates the purchasing records for non-stock line items.
Note also that the system does not perform credit checks or price checks for quotes. Once the quote is changed to a standard order, the system places any line items on price hold if applicable. The system also performs a credit check at this point; if necessary, the order is put on credit hold. Follow-up activities are created for any price holds and credit holds, if appropriate.
To change a quote to a standard order, first you need to open the quote. Then you can change its order type.
On the Home Page tab, click the Home Page button. The Home Page screen appears.
In My Follow-up queue, click the follow-up activity that pertains to the open quote that you would like to convert to a standard order. (OpenQuote is listed in the Event column for an open quote.) If the follow-up activity is not listed in the queue, you may need to adjust the viewing options of My Follow-up queue first.
The Current Order screen on the Customer Service tab appears, and the quote is shown.
In the Order Type area, select Standard.
Make any necessary changes to the order, such as the ship to location (on the Ship Tos screen) or product quantities.
Click the Accept Order button. Vision will automatically remove the follow-up activity for this order from your queue on the Home Page screen of the Home Page tab.
