Cancel a quote

When you designate the order type as Quote on the Current Order screen on the Customer Service tab, Vision automatically creates a new follow-up activity for this order and adds it to your queue on the Home Page screen of the Home Page tab to remind you that the quote is open. After the customer has approved the quote, you must change it to a standard order, make any other necessary changes, and accept it. Once you have accepted the order, the follow-up activity is removed from your queue on the Home Page screen.

Quotes that are still open after a certain number of days are canceled and purged automatically during End-of-Day processing. The number of days is set at the warehouse level, so any quotes for a particular warehouse will be purged if they are still open this long.

The default for the number of days is three. For example, let's say that you enter and accept a supply quote in the system on Monday. At the same time, the system automatically creates a follow-up activity for this quote in My Follow-up queue on the Home Page screen of your Home Page tab.

On Wednesday night, the quote is still open (that is, the quote has not been converted into a standard order). Any quote that is still open after three days will most likely not be converted to a standard order. During Wednesday night's EOD processing, the system purges, or clears, this quote from your system. It also purges the associated follow-up activity from your follow-up queue if you haven't already deleted it manually.

This quote and follow-up activity purging frees you from having to manually cancel old quotes and their associated follow-up queue activities.

Note: The default number of days that open orders are allowed to remain on the system is currently set to three for each warehouse. For information on how to change this number for a warehouse, refer to Specify how many days to hold a supply quote.
