Descriptions of the fields and buttons for the Customer Type maintenance are provided in the following table. The Customer Type folder is a subfolder of the Customer Information folder on the System Configuration screen of the Vision Configuration tab.
To create a new customer type, right-click the Customer Type folder and select Add New Customer Type.
Note: To access the Customer Type maintenance, you must have the proper security privileges. The File Maintenance Customer job function needs to be assigned to one of your roles. Roles are assigned to users in the User Maintenance on the Security Maintenance screen of the Vision Configuration tab. For more information, refer to About roles and job functions.

This field contains the two-digit code that identifies this customer type. Customer types are used to help you organize your customers. They are included on the following reports:
A customer's type is indicated in the Customer Type field on the Master screen of the Customer Maintenance tab. |

This field is used to describe the classification that corresponds to the customer type code. The description can have a maximum of 25 characters. |

This field contains the percentage of monthly collected accounts receivable that is paid back to an organization for business received from members of that organization. This percentage is then used in creating the calculations for the Rebate Customer Monthly Listing, which is generated during End-of-Month processing. Entry in this field is not required. |
