Descriptions of the fields and buttons for the Product Type maintenance are provided in the following table. The Product Types folder is a subfolder of the Product Information folder on the System Configuration screen of the Vision Configuration tab.
To create a new product type, right-click the Product Types folder and select Add New Product Type.
Note: To access the Product Types maintenance, you must have the proper security privileges. The File Maintenance OE job function needs to be assigned to one of your roles. Roles are assigned to users in the User Maintenance on the Security Maintenance screen of the Vision Configuration tab. For more information, refer to About roles and job functions.

If you are creating SupplyPoint e-commerce requisition lists from Vision product types, this drop-down list should be used to generate meaningful categories. The categories group requisition list products in SupplyPoint Order Entry into smaller groups, enabling the user to find products faster and more easily. When you designate a requisition category for this product type, select product types as your category during Requisition from Contract Generation. |
