System Configuration: Map Location

Descriptions of the fields and buttons for the Map Location maintenance are provided in the following table. The Map Location folder is a subfolder of the Customer Information folder on the System Configuration screen of the Vision Configuration tab.

To create a new customer type, right-click the Map Location folder and select Add New Map Location.

Note: To access the Map Location maintenance, you must have the proper security privileges. The File Maintenance Customer job function needs to be assigned to one of your roles. Roles are assigned to users in the User Maintenance on the Security Maintenance screen of the Vision Configuration tab. For more information, refer to About roles and job functions.

Field or button

Description

Map Location

This field contains the code that identifies this map location.

Map locations are used mainly for shipping routes. They are assigned to customer's ship to locations through the Map Location drop-down list on the Ship To Main screen of the Customer Maintenance tab.

Description

This field is used to describe the map location. The description can have a maximum of 25 characters.

 Route or Driver #

This drop-down list identifies the route/driver assigned to the map location. The route or driver number prints on pick tickets, bulk labels, and manifests.

Delivery Zone

This single letter identifies the zone within the delivery truck.

Zones help determine the order for the deliveries of each route. They are included on driver reports, pick tickets, and manifests.

Delivery Charge

To add a flat delivery fee to an order, type the dollar amount in this field. The amount you enter is charged in its entirety when the first product is shipped for all orders associated with this map location.

Allowable Override

If it should be possible to override to this map location on an order, select this check box. If it should never be possible to override to this map location, clear this check box.

The Map Location drop-down list on the Current Order screen of the Customer Service tab is where the map location for an order is identified. The default map location displayed in this drop-down list is the one set up for the ship to location. The ship to location's map location is selected in the Map Location drop-down list on the Ship To Main screen of the Customer Maintenance tab.

Expedite Flag

If the word RUSH should be included with the map location in Credit Hold Inquiry any time an order with this map location is left on credit hold, select this check box. This alerts the credit manager that credit holds associated with this map location should be addressed as soon as possible. Credit Hold Inquiry is available in Vision Back Office.

If it is not necessary to include the word RUSH, clear this check box.

Breakroom Route

This drop-down list contains all of the ship routes that are flagged as breakroom route in Ship Route/Driver Maintenance. Breakroom routes may be required to set up coffee equipment or perform some types of equipment maintenance.

If the map location includes breakroom-related services, select the appropriate breakroom route from this drop-down list.

This drop-down list is displayed only if you are using the Office Products flavor of Vision.

Accept

Click this button to save any changes that you have made.

Cancel

Click this button if you do not wish to save the changes that you made, and you wish to revert to your previous information.
