Specify how manufacturer average lead time should be calculated in a warehouse

The manufacturer's average lead time is used during End-of-Month processing to calculate the reorder point and the safety stock quantity. The Warehouse maintenance on the System Configuration screen of the Vision Configuration tab is where you specify how manufacturer average lead time should be calculated in a selected warehouse.

Note: To access the Warehouse maintenance, you must have the proper security privileges. The File Maintenance Warehouse job function needs to be assigned to one of your roles. Roles are assigned to users in the User Maintenance on the Security Maintenance screen of the Vision Configuration tab. For more information, refer to About roles and job functions.

To specify how manufacturer average lead time should be calculated in a warehouse

  1. On the Vision Configuration tab, click the System Configuration button. The System Configuration screen appears.

  2. Click the Warehouse folder to expand its contents.

  3. Click the folder for the warehouse you would like to modify.

  4. Click the Purchasing folder. The Purchasing screen appears.

  5. In the Manufacturer Average Lead Time Calculation area, you have two options:

  1. If a manufacturer's average lead time should be calculated using a set number of purchase orders once every month during End-of-Month processing, select the Calculate Monthly option.

  2. In the field Number of Purchase Orders To Include field, type the number of purchase orders that should be used to calculate the manufacturer average lead time for products in the selected warehouse.

  1. Click the Accept button to save your changes.
